# How To Make It:

01 - Select a large, round or oval serving board for arrangement.
02 - Layer the smoked turkey, salami, and prosciutto in overlapping rows along the upper half of the board, forming a sweeping semicircle mimicking a turkey's fanned tail.
03 - Place rows of sliced cheeses and crackers beneath the meats, curving each row to maintain the tail shape.
04 - Distribute dried apricots, red grapes, and pecan halves in clusters around the cheeses and crackers to introduce color and texture contrast.
05 - Arrange fresh rosemary sprigs and sage leaves at the base of the tail as decorative greenery.
06 - Position the small cheese ball at one end of the board to represent the turkey's head.
07 - Decorate the cheese ball with peppercorns for eyes, a piece of red bell pepper for the wattle, and a thin carrot slice for the beak.
08 - Present immediately, ensuring easy access to all components for guests.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It's a showstopper that requires zero cooking—just beautiful arrangement and a little creativity with your knife
  • Everyone finds something they love, from the salty prosciutto to the sweet dried apricots, all in one glorious spread
  • It transforms a simple appetizer into an edible centerpiece that guests will photograph before they eat
02 -
  • Slice your meats and cheeses no more than an hour or two before serving—they dry out faster than you'd think, and you want that fresh quality that makes the difference between okay and outstanding
  • If a cheese slice tears or breaks, don't throw it away—tear it into smaller pieces and use them to fill gaps. Some of my favorite arrangements came from working with imperfect pieces that forced me to be creative
03 -
  • If you're making this board ahead, place your ingredients on the board but cover different sections with parchment paper until serving time—this keeps everything fresh and prevents the flavors from mingling before people get to choose their combinations
  • The turkey's personality is everything—spend a moment getting the cheese ball face just right. Those two peppercorn eyes are what transform a beautiful board into a conversation starter that people will remember and talk about
