# How To Make It:
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease and line a 9x13 inch rectangular cake pan.
- Whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in pure vanilla extract.
- Alternately add flour mixture and milk to butter mixture, starting and ending with flour; mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan, smooth surface, and bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cake rest in pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
- Beat softened butter until creamy; gradually add powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt, beating until smooth and fluffy.
- Level cooled cake, then cut using a printed template or freehand into the shape of a classic video game controller.
- Cover cake with a thin layer of buttercream to seal crumbs and chill for 30 minutes.
- Tint portions of fondant with gel colors to create black, gray, and colored buttons; roll fondant on cornstarch-dusted surface.
- Cover cake with gray fondant, then apply colored fondant pieces to replicate buttons and pixel details.
- Place finished cake on serving platter to resemble a pixelated controller.
